“The Commission is preparing to move forward with a statewide recount of votes for President of the United States, as requested by these candidates,” Michael Haas, the elections commissions administrator, said in a press statement released shortly after the tweet. “We have assembled an internal team to direct the recount, we have been in close consultation with our county clerk partners, and have arranged for legal representation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.”

Haas said the state commission was still working with country clerks to come up with an estimate for the cost of a full recount. The statement noted that the federal deadline for recounts is December 13, which Haas said “will certainly challenge some counties to finish on time.”

The statement went on to elaborate on the process, while detailing the initial results of the presidential race.

The Stein campaign website said that it has raised more than $5 million for recounts in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan — all states Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump — but is hoping to meet a goal of $7 million for the total effort. The campaign also released a statement after filing its Wisconsin recount request calling for volunteers for its recount team.
