Presidential candidates working to get on Wyoming ballot

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) – More names continue to come forward hoping to be on the General Election Ballot. It may not just be Donald Trump of Hillary Clinton Wyoming residents have to choose between on November 8th.

Kai Schon Election Director for the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office says, “We’ve received three independent candidates for the presidential race Jill Stein, Evan McMullin, and Rocky De La Fuente.”

These names are unofficial. They will still have to be certified by the office by September 8th. 3,302 signatures must be collected according to Wyoming laws.

Sarah Rumpf works for the McMullin campaign. She and volunteers dropped off petition signatures on Monday. Rumpf says there were 649 pages, however all of them were not completely full. The pages have 10 lines each. So, she is estimating about 5,000 signatures were collected.

McMullin is a graduate of Brigham Young University, previously working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and transitioned into investment banking.

McMullin declared his candidacy in early August.
