Feb. 20, 2016 – PRLog — An interesting thing happened when Democratic Presidential Candidate Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente held a Town Hall meeting in Las Vegas this past Wednesday night. He outdrew Marco Rubio’s Town Hall meeting even though Rubio is one of the Republican frontrunners for the same office. While Rubio is one of the “darlings” of the Republican Party, the Democratic Party has done everything it can to bury De La Fuente’s campaign. Still, he perseveres.
There is another interesting parallel between these two candidates. Rubio represents the Republican Party’s attempt to attract Hispanic voters. One might expect the Democratic Party to laud De La Fuente, a legitimate Hispanic candidate, in the same way. Instead, party leadership has championed Hillary Clinton as the representative of that particular constituency.
The Democratic Party of Nevada has even refused to mention De La Fuente’s name with respect to its upcoming caucus or put his picture on its website. While the party has remained unavailable for comment, Mr. De La Fuente is quite open about the snub.
“I am a Hispanic American. I am used to being treated as a second class citizen. I am used to overcoming barriers. In fact, I’ve become quite good at it,” said De La Fuente.
“The party seems to have decided who its nominee will be regardless of the will of the people, and it needs the minority vote to remain intact so as not to upset that plan,” he continued. “Unfortunately for them, I like challenges and I am committed to overcoming whatever the party tries to put in my way. How can I inspire future generations of leaders within our minority communities if I bow to the pressure of the party?”
De La Fuente is an extremely successful entrepreneur who has created thousands of jobs across the country. He has a vast amount of international experience and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) for his outstanding service as an ambassador of business.
He also apparently knows how to overcome barriers as Sen. Rubio and the Democratic Party can attest.
Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente is living proof that the American Dream can be achieved by those who are inspired to pursue it. He has an amazing record of overcoming obstacles and achieving success. From being licensed by the FAA to fly single engine planes at the age of 20 to owning 28 automobile dealerships and becoming Chairman of the National Dealers Council for the third largest automobile manufacturer in the world by the age of 28, Rocky is in a league by himself. He also created a banking network in 1982 to help address an economic crisis in Mexico and established impressive real estate holdings throughout the United States while generating thousands of new jobs along the way. Rocky holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics (Magna Cum Laude) and exudes a passion for his country and for those who seek the opportunity to fulfill their version of the American Dream.
